School Introduction

We teach English as a foreign language to students from the ages of 5 to adult. We have beginner ESL courses and supplementary language courses including TOEFL and SAP prep. We also have adult conversation courses. WIC is an authorized EDI TOEFL testing centre. We have tutors for Math, Science and Critical Thinking as well as introductory Chinese (mandarin, cantonese). We teach grammar and writing to foreign students as separate courses.

ESL Program Introduction

WIC has developed its own comprehensive curriculum for each grade level from pre-school up to and including Grade 12. This curriculum covers reading comprehension, writing, grammar, speaking, listening, vocabulary, spelling and critical thinking, The adult conversation classes include all of the former as well as some Canadian cultural orientation. We have a reading lending library and an audio lending library. Additional weekly grade appropriate vocabulary sheets are given to the students by the Principal and book reports are required on a bi-weekly basis.

Schedule & Fees

We have classes on-going from January through to December, only observing national holidays. The course times are set according to student requirements, with some courses running all year. Our fees are $20.00 an hour for group lessons and $40.00 an hour for private lessons.
